Flying with a Wedding Dress + How to Travel

You're going to want to make sure your dress gets from point A to B, but that can be tricky with full flights, cramped spaces and grumpy passengers. You're going to want to map out a plan, but first:

Call them and see about their process. Every airline is different, so even though they cannot guarantee anything, at least you walk on the plane a little more confident knowing what to expect. Call ahead to see if the plane has a front closet.

Let it be said that wrapping up your delicate dress might be the best thing for it, specially with so much fabric and most likely a long train. Poke the hanger through the top, and roll your train up towards the top. Make sure you place a finger on the other side of the zipper as you zip it up. Be careful not to snap the fabric.

BRIDE TIP: Ask if your wedding dress shop will help you pack your dress in your carry on. They will know how to properly fold your dress while preventing wrinkles!

Don't forget the adapter if you're flying overseas too. Pack a portable steamer and make sure to put either a towel or a sock over the head of the steamer in order to prevent water spots.
