An Irish Elopement in Ireland | The Cliffs of Moher, Liscannor, County Clare, Ireland

An Irish Elopement in Ireland

I seriously think it’s the sweetest thing to say to one another and it certainly fits their destination wedding location as well! Have you ever been to The Cliffs of Moher? Have you ever heard of it?

The Cliffs of Moher

I attended this 4 day wedding workshop in Colorado from end of September to October 4th. That’s where I met Heather. She lives in Colorado so she was super local to where we had our workshop at Glacier Lodge, Estes Park. It wasn’t but a couple days after the workshop that Heather posted this in our Facebook group:

Let me tell ya…I didn’t even finish reading the comment before I wrote: “MEEE…MEEE…OMG MEEEEEE!”

Once I expressed my interest, I went back to reread my comment. I figured there would be TONS of interest and people BLOWING up the post….but that’s when I saw it. Shoot an elopement with me….in 5 days!!!

OH MAN!!!! I HAVE to make this work! All I had to do was find myself a sitter for my son, figure out the small details and deal with the day job. I was ON it too. I told the day job that I HAD to go, that I would NEVER have this kind of opportunity like this again. I was very determined to NOT take no for an answer!

I was already passport ready to go!!

I don’t care about it being last minute. I’m spontaneous like that and have always dreamed of traveling like this! I packed everything last minute, went to the several stores trying to find European plugs. There was NO way I was going to be able to fit everything in my House of Flynn bag, so I splurged a little on the extra baggage fee. We flew WOW air. The pinkest, most pink plane I have ever seen haha Heather managed to fit everything she needed in her bag, which was even smaller. I don’t know how she did it haha but it saved her money. I had plans to bring back souvenirs for everyone also, so it didn’t bother me.

Basically, what happened, was the main chicka ended up having some family issues, and Heather happened to already work with Suzanne in Colorado, so when this happened, Heather agreed to take over, but there was one issue…she’s never really traveled alone, internationally. SO…that’s when the search for a “travel partner” happened. I don’t remember all the reasons why others could not before she asked in the Photo Rehab Facebook Group but I am so incredibly grateful for such an A-MAZING opportunity. To be honest, 2018 is going to be HARD to match with all the traveling I had done! Jamaica + Colorado Elopement + Ireland Destination…OMG!

So, John and Kaley met working at a restaurant. John has children of his own and they both met in the restaurant biz. Kaley is super supportive and TOTALLY in love with her hubby!!! John, is the most sweet, kind and caring guy and Kaley truly is so lucky and blessed to have such a wonderful man. The way he talks to her, looks at her, treats her…just goals! He honestly spoils her and she totally deserves it!

Okay, let’s get to the good part. The start of an AMAZING adventure + Marriage

Stage: Getting Ready at Sea View House, Doolin Ireland

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

When Kaley was a little girl, her Father passed away. He was from Ireland and currently rests in Ireland. Kaley wanted to wear this locket of her father, very close to her heart so she could have him with her! <3

Stage: Ceremony at The Cliffs of Moher

We hoped in the car with owner Niall (who was basically our little tour guide!) We were on our way to Hags Head which is 9 miles from Doolin along the west coast of Ireland. Here, off the beaten path you could find even more breathtaking views from Hags Head. We had special privileges that day! We had to stop and wait for Kaley and some of her family to arrive and we found the perfect spot! John was not allowed to see Kaley (although he tried to take a peak…haha he said it was fair game at that point haha)

We parked by a castle and I just LOVE their text between the two (Pictured above!! ^) John was a little nervous so a drink or two helped calm the nerves. How could I NOT document this!! It really is a fairy tale. P.S-I love that he has her name stored as “Sexy” hehe

Stage: The Most GORGEOUS First Look (with a view!)

Stage: Ceremony

After all the excitement happened of walking down mother natures aisle, all emotions took over. She remembered her Father. John is so supportive of his future (now) wife!

Stage: Drive Back to Sea View House for some CAKE!

…More time for detail shots and Bride + Groom Photos!!

Stage: Operation “Grab a BEER!”

Stage: Chasing the Sunset (More Bride + Groom Portraits!!)

Stage: DINNER

After a few photos here and trying so desperately to catch the waves crashing up behind them (which I did!!) the sun was sinking fast in the sky and it started to get a bit cold, so we headed to Gus O’Connors Pub where we ended the night with some of the best damn food I have EVER had in my entire life!!!!

Are you considering an elopement?

I know I personally want one some day! There is less rushing around, less stress and more time to enjoy intimate moments together. I LOVE to travel (even last minute) so I am ALWAYS down to go with you! <3
